The Member of Parliament for Akatsi South District-Hon. Bernard Ahiafor together with the District Chief Executive -Hon Leo Nelson Adzidoga and some delegations from JACINTA AND DAVIDS FOUNDATION an NGO has teamed up to discuss how to make Akatsi market become one of the best markets in the Volta Region for business development. After a closed-door meeting on Tuesday between the MP and the DCE together with the delegation from JACINTA and DAVID FOUNDATION has visited the market to ascertain the standard and the capacity of the market.
Some other key personalities such as, Torgbui Dorglo Anuma VI the paramount chief of Avenor Traditional Council, Mr. Kofitse Nyahe- the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Akatsi South, former for DCE-Hon Samuel Kodzo Wuadi , Mr. Kluste Tony-NDC Chairman Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba NDC constituency Secretary, Hon.Mawuli Ocloo Egos the director for NADMO Akatsi South, the District Works Engineer among others visited the District central Market to see and put up plans to upgrade the Market to a standard class of living for the people of Akatsi South District.
According to the District Chief Executive Hon. Adzidoga due to the cordial relationship between him and the Member of parliament, despite there political difference and ideology they both have Akatsi at there hearts when it comes to the development of the district. The DCE has reveal that after the MP informed about the NGO interest in the market, ” l also present the District Development plan about the to the delegates of NGO which impressed them to have interest in developing the market to one of the first class in the Volta Region which when come pass will create jobs for the youth in the Akatsi South District”.
Mr. Alex O’Casey the group leader has assured the MP, the DCE, the Chiefs and the people of the Akatsi south that, ” the market would see massive infrastructure upgrading such as, Warehouse, Sheds, Drainage, Clinic, Daycare Center, KVIP, Restroom, Canteen etc. which he said would involve a lot of finance from the NGO.
Hon. Bernard Ahiafor the MP for the area has rubbished politicking as a bane in development and said he would always place Avenor first in his works. He also challenges the youth to humble themselves and learn from the elderly and make use of every good opportunity that comes their way for the development of the District.
Torgbui Dorglo Anuma VI the paramount chief of Avenor Traditional council was grateful to the NGO and the political leaders for their togetherness and has encouraged them to continue to be the pacesetter for the upcoming generation. The Paramount chief of the Avenor Traditional Council Torgbui Dorglo Anuma vi advice the Assembly to make use of the Internal Generated Fund ( IGF ) to develop the District.
