Ghana’s leading indigenous business conglomerate, Groupe Nduom has won three awards at the just ended 3rd Ghana Hotels Association Awards whilst was held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Saturday, January 20th.
The group won the House Keeping Team of the year, Conference and Banqueting Team of the year, all of 2&3 star category whilst the Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom won the Lifetime Achievement of the year,2017 for his immense contribution and building of the Hotel Industry in Ghana through its chain of Hotels spanning across the length and breadth of the country.
Nana Kweku Nduom, Vice President, Business Development, and Finance of Groupe Nduom who took the award on his father’s behalf in an interview with the press after the award ceremony attributed their success in the local market to consistency, excellent service delivery and being the only Ghanaian indigenous company owned and managed efficiently.
He said Groupe Nduom would continue to offer its support to the Hotel industry in Ghana so that the sector can absorb the teaming number of youths, a way of reducing employment and to help make Ghana one of the best tourist destination in the world.
The Chairman of the event, Hudson Kojo Ablordepey,who won the Life Time Achievement of the year,2016 at the 2nd Ghana Hotel Association Awards chastised government for keeping to Laws which were abolished in the United Kingdom such as the Spirit Ordinance Amendment Act 1928 and calls on the government to review laws such as the Legislative Instrument 1205,EPA Law 206 and Act 462,1993 which, he said is inhibiting the growth of the Hotel industry in Ghana.
