A non-governmental organisation, Le Mode des Gaulios, will in the coming days begin the promotion of French education in the Ketu South Municipality in the Volta Region.
Founder of the NGO, Kondo Michael Kwasi said their vision as an NGO “is to promote an effective teaching and learning of the French language among Ghanaian children and the general public in other to make Ghana one of the best bilingual countries in Africa.”
French education has not been encouraging in Ghana as most people, especially students, develop a low interest in the subject. Most who find themselves learning the subject do not give out their best as there is not an enabling environment to aid the learning and teaching of French in our schools.
Speaking at a workshop on Monday at Tokor, Kondo Michael Kwasi said the NGO had organised the workshop to train both private and public teachers who teach French in the Ketu South Municipality.
He appealed to stakeholders to create the conducive environment to develop the interest of the students and the general public to learn the French language for a better integration of Ghana into the ECOWAS block and AU.
