The Municipal Cheif Executive for Nkwanta South, John Thasun, has pledged to intensify waste management to make the municipality the cleanest in the country.
Mr John Thasun made this known during the inauguration of the Nkwanta South District to municipality status.
According to him, the assembly in collaboration with the chiefs has agreed to embark on a clean-up exercise on the 1st Saturday of every month to achieve the objective adding all businesses would be closed until the clean-up ends at 9am.
He indicated that failure to comply by the regulations would attract penalty and called for support towards the cleanup exercise
The paramount chief of Kuan-Agyode traditional council Nana Obombo Sewurah Lepuwurah (ii) also called for attitudinal change towards work from residents and local government workers to enhance socio-economic development of the newly elevated Municipality.
He also admonished residents to go by the assembly’s layout plans and desist from erecting structures indiscriminatly.
Nana Obombo Sewurah Lepuwurah (ii) urged the magistrate court judge to be fair and firm in dealing with cases brought before it and deliver judgement devoid of favoritism.
