This morning, the Trotsky I was in stopped at a bus stop to call for passengers. There were already two Trotskies before we got there. The driver and mate had spotted a couple approaching and while waiting, two other tortskies came to pass us by. When the couple got to the bus stop, they boarded one of the vehicles there before us. When we got to the next bus stop, one of the vehicles that passed us by at the previous bus stop had gotten five more passengers to pick up. Then it dawned on me that most often we wait for unattainable opportunities which deprive us of better ones. Sometimes we spend time doing things that benefit us very little when we could have spent the same time achieving greater feats. This driver knew that there was very little or no chance at all that the couple would board his Trotsky because there is an unwritten law among the drivers on the route to leave such passengers for the waiting vehicle, so why did he wait? You need to critically consider all opportunities that come your way because not all opportunities are to be grabbed. Fact is opportunities come but once; truth is opportunities come in multiples; reality is opportunities reoccur after some time. In grabbing opportunities, check to grab those that are relevant, important and urgent with regards to the project you’re working on currently. Some opportunities are time waters and deprive us of better opportunities ahead. Some opportunities are choked with too many other grabbers. Identify every opportunity, scrutinize every opportunity and grab only relevant opportunities. #BeInspired #RenewYourMind.
