The C.E.O of Chrispod Power Ltd, a power producing company, Mr Chris Kpodo has assured residents of Afife in the Ketu North Municipality that efforts are being made to bring the needed development to the area, particularly in the provision of facilities at the Afife new market to improve upon conditions at the market.
Mr. Kpodo said he had been working closely with the chiefs, the assembly as well as other stakeholders to help in identifying the pressing needs of the people because the government alone could not achieve much without working in collaboration with the needed stakeholders in its development efforts.
Mr. Kpodo made this disclosure to voltanewsonline when he met the District Chief Executive for Ketu North, Mr. Anthony Avorgbedor, engineers from the assembly, the assembly member for Afife as well as some Chiefs of the area in a move to bring some developmental projects to the Afife main market. The first project he said will be the fencing of the Afife market.
Mr. Kpodo lamented the neglect of the region by some key individuals who have the necessary financial strength in developing the region.
“When you go to other villages outside our region, they have great buildings but look at our area in the Volta region, nothing is going on. Sometimes I feel so sad when I come to my area, meanwhile, we have important people who are outside there and they fear to come back home for these things, so this is my initiative to prove to them that coming back home is very important in other to develop our own area” he said.
He further mentioned job creation as a major focus for his people, but that he said can’t be made manifest if the people themselves are not willing to make any effort.
He, therefore, advised the residents to create the enabling environment for investors to also come.
Mr. Kpodo promised that the first project at the market will be completed in some few months later.
