President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has received another appointment after being named president of CAF’s 2018 World Cup Committee.
The mandate of the Committee is to offer adequate support to Africa’s representatives at next year’s World Cup.
The GFA president already serves as the 1st Vice President of CAF, as well as the president of the West African Football Union (WAFU).
His latest role, though, will see him head a host of other FA officials from other African countries in discharging his duties.
He will be assisted by Zambian football legend and CAF EXCO member, Kalusha Bwalya, Amaju Pinnick (Nigerian FA President), Hany Abo Rida (Egypt FA President), Fouzi Lakjaa (Morocco FA President), Augustin Senghor (Senegal FA President) and Wadii Jari (Tunisia FA President).
The CAF World Cup committee will hold its first meeting after the draw for the tournament has been made next month.
Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Tunisia and Nigeria will be representing Africa in Russia.
