The Nkwanta south municipal assembly of the Volta has donated 400 dual desk to the Municipal directorate of Education service in Nkwanta to solve the challenges facing public schools that try to secure furniture for their classrooms.
With recent report by Obrempong Ba Kwame Owusu revealed that some schools like Salifu-Krom KG’s pupil’s study on mat and bare floor.
In line with that the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly has presented 400 dual desks to the municipal directorates of education at Nkwanta for distribution to the public schools that did not have enough furniture.
The (MCE), Elder John Thasun who made the presentation said, this is to form part of the responsibilities of the assembly at creating conducive environment for teaching and learning in schools in the municipality.
Elder John Thasun, added that the attainment of quality education should not only be the responsibility of the government alone and therefore, called on all and sundry especially parents to contribute their quota by providing their children with the necessary needs to complement government efforts.
The municipal director of education in Nkwanta south Dr Stephen Kwame Tsourfe, thanked the municipal assembly for the support and expressed the hope that it will continue to offer similar support to schools in the municipality.
“This presentation would go a long way to address some of the furniture challenges facing the schools ” he said.”
He therefore called on the municipal assembly,and other and sundry to assist with more desks since additional 7,000 dual desk needed to solve the furniture problems in schools.
