The Paramount chief of Kpassa Ubor Konja Tassan VI, has appealed to President Nana Addo to use his high office to sanction the construction of a district hospital to save many souls from perishing.
He made this appeal during the celebration of the 5th annual yam festival at Kpassa.
He said, it is nerve-wrecking to learn that even though Kpassa has attained a district capital status over a decade ago, but do not have a district hospital for which over 100,000 travel for long distance to Nkwanta, Bimbila and other district to seek medical care.
I want to use this opportunity to appeal to the government for the construction of a district hospital to save many souls as we continue to lose precious lives including pregnant women.
Ubor Konja, also seized the opportunity and called on government to consider putting up college of Education or Nurses training college at Kpassa to open up opportunities for the youth in the district and other surrounding areas to access quality education.
He admonished that access to quality education is the key to the transformation of any country development for which he doff his heart to the government for implementing the free senior high school policy which will not only enable many young people to have access to education, but will also eradicate poverty in the long run.
The paramount chief once again, called on the government to take immediate steps to construct the deplorable eastern corridor road which stretches across major farming communities in the Volta Region to Northern Region making it difficult for passengers to move to other parts of the country.
Bringing his speech to a close, he urged all state agencies in Nkwanta North especially the youth to work hand in hand to ensure that there is peace, unity to promote development in the district and also assured that Konkombas, will continue to maintain peace among all ethnic groups and tribes in the three northern regions.
